The new Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is a very thin Android smart phone. With a metal bezel the Arc looks really stunning and invariably one of the most exciting Android touch phones. Due to the up-to-date version of Android, and a thinned-down custom user interface, the Arc has the potential to be one of the most favourite Sony Ericsson smart phone yet.
Measuring just 8.7mm it's very slim and light and slightly curved, feels comfortable in your hand with the trio of silver back, home and menu buttons at the bottom. Out of the Arc's specifications the biggest treat of all could be its 4.2-inch screen. It's a TFT LCD screen, which delivers an accurate colour reproduction.The 854x480 pixel resolution is sharp and beautiful to look at. They have supplied the screen with Sony's Bravia Engine image-processing technology. Bravia system delivers optimal colour, contrast, noise and sharpness on the Arc's screen. Arc does claim to protect its screen with a shatter-proof cover on the scratch-resistant mineral glass.
HDMI Cable
The Arc is one of the thinnest smart phones. It measures 9mm at its thickest ends and curves to 8.7mm in the middle. The Xperia Arc has a plastic case, rather than a metal case like some of its competitors.
The Arc offers an 8.1-megapixel camera with an LED photo light with face detection and image stabilization. Also it has the Exmor R CMOS sensor, which is so fresh that it's only just arriving on compact cameras. This sensor should take smoother, better-quality shots in low light than normal phone cameras. That's very good for a camera phone.
The Xperia Arc can also shoot 720p HD video and you can transfer your shots on the big screen with mini-HDMI port. The phone will come with a HDMI cable in the box. With the HDMI output from the phone you will be able to see everything you do on the phone mirrored on the TV screen, like on the Nokia N8.
The new Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc will be shipped with Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Sony Ericsson insists that the Arc will get an update to Android 3.0 Honeycomb too.
